Your Trainer

Hi, I’m Colin and I’ve been teaching automatic driving since 2006 having qualified as a Driving Instructor and started The Bright Red L driving school in 2002. With experience in both learner and fleet training along with driving experience day instructing, I’ve specialised in training in electric vehicles and the transition to EVs since 2019.

Automatic Driving

Your automatic lessons will be in an MG4 EV. You’ll find it the same as driving any automatic car with the added benefit of being a very quiet and relaxed learning environment. The controls are light and easy to use keeping the stress levels down. Being automatic there’s none of the things that cause frustration in a manual car such as having to coordinate gears and a clutch just to get the car moving. No hill starts either.

Not only is driving automatic much less stressful but Colin is an amazing instructor.
